Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 28, 2025

This policy explains how Momentum Group (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles personal information. We wrote it in clear language to help you understand what we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and what choices you have. It reflects the requirements of Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Who this policy covers

This policy applies to our websites, products, and services that link to or reference it. It covers personal information handled in Alberta and, where we deal across provincial or national borders, under PIPEDA too.

What we collect

We collect only what we need for reasonable business purposes. That may include contact details, account information, payment and transaction information, records of how you use our services, and communications with us. If you apply for a job, we may collect résumé and interview information that is needed to manage the hiring process. We aim to keep information accurate and up to date where needed.

How we use information

We use personal information to provide and improve our services, communicate with you, process payments, comply with laws, prevent fraud, and manage our business. We limit collection, use, disclosure, and retention to what a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances.

Consent

We ask for your consent before collecting, using, or disclosing personal information unless the law allows us to proceed without consent. You give consent when you click buttons such as “I accept,” “I agree,” or a “Submit” button, when you check a box, when you submit a form, or when you choose to provide information to us for a stated purpose. If we change how we use your information in a material way, we will ask you to confirm your consent again, which may include clicking an “I accept,” “I agree,” or “Submit” button.

You can withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits. If you do, we will explain any impacts on the services we can provide. For sensitive information, or for uses or disclosures that people would not reasonably expect, we will seek express consent, for example through a checkbox, a digital signature, or an “I agree,” “I accept,” or “Submit” button.

Service providers and transfers outside Canada

We use trusted service providers to host, process, and support our services. We remain responsible for personal information handled on our behalf and require service providers to protect it in a way that is comparable to our own obligations. If we transfer personal information outside Canada for processing, it may be subject to lawful access by authorities in those countries. We inform people that such transfers may occur.

Alberta requirement about service providers outside Canada: our policy identifies the countries where collection, use, or disclosure may occur and the purposes for those activities. We also tell you how to get more information and who to contact with questions. Today, our service providers may be located in Canada and the United States for purposes such as cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics, payments, and customer support. To ask questions about our use of service providers outside Canada, contact us using the details below.

Sharing information

We do not sell personal information. We may share it with service providers, with your consent, to meet legal obligations, to protect our rights and the safety of others, or as part of a business transaction in line with legal requirements.

Retention and disposal

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described or as required by law. When it is no longer needed, we securely destroy, erase, or anonymize it.

Security

We protect personal information with safeguards that match its sensitivity. These measures include physical security, organizational controls such as access limits and training, and technical safeguards such as encryption and authentication.

Your rights

You can request access to your personal information in our custody and ask for corrections if it is inaccurate or incomplete. We respond within the time limits set by law and will explain any refusal we are permitted to make. We aim to respond within 30 days under PIPEDA and within 45 days where Alberta PIPA applies.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies or similar tools to make our site work, to remember preferences, and to understand how people use our services so we can improve them. You can adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies, which may affect how our site functions.

How we handle a privacy breach

If we experience a breach of our security safeguards that creates a real risk of significant harm, we will investigate and take steps to reduce the risk. We will notify affected individuals and report to regulators as required. Under PIPEDA we notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and affected individuals. Under Alberta PIPA we notify the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta without unreasonable delay and, if directed, the affected individuals.

Children

Our services are designed for adults. If we learn we collected personal information from a child in a way that requires consent from a parent or guardian, we will delete it or obtain proper consent.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to our practices or the law. If we make a material change, we will post the updated policy and change the effective date. Where required, we will seek your consent to new purposes.
